Morningside Heights

One of the things I first fell in love with when I moved to Morningside Heights from the Bronx was all the greenery with Central Park and Morningside Park nearby. Taking walks became a daily routine and something I looked forward to. I soon learned what makes this neighborhood special and a place that I've called home over the last 7 years. Along with the great parks are the surroundings, restaurants that continue to spring up, beautiful architecture and of course the people!

Morningside Heights is a neighborhood located in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, on the border of the Upper West Side and Manhattanville and most recently described as part of "Greater Harlem".

Moving to a new neighborhood is always exciting but it can become a hassle to track down the oh so necessary New Yorker needs like grocery stores that carry items you like and spacious laundromats with atleast 85% of their machines fully operational. Not to mention what subway trains and buses service the area.

I've included below some of the must visit places whether you're new to the area and looking to explore or just passing through. Some of the locations listed below are a bit on the outskirts of Morningside Heights but only by a few blocks and worth the visit. Click on the names to learn more. Welcome to the neighborhood and enjoy!
